Home dream home

“Home sweet home”

It’s the common phrase that we hear almost every time we step inside our own abode. A house is simply a building with walls and a roof on top of it but a home is something where peace and comfort should combine. Why is it that even after a month-long trip and sleeping at a 5 star hotel, you still cannot find that peace compared to the one you have in your own home? Amazing, isn’t it?

Picture your house full of unwashed dishes, laundry scattered almost on every inch on the floor of your bedroom and that light bulb got busted for finally after 5 years of its service now making your house look like the set of the Tales of the Crypt Keeper. Now, take a deep breathe and look at everything, yes, it’s like the stock market crashed down to a negative point and the world has gone chaotic for World War III. Your mood suddenly flushes down and you go mad about everything and even start and end your day all ballistic. Maybe it is right what they say “Everything starts at home” whether it be your personality or your way of thinking and looking at things.

Needless to say, I’m a bit obsessed about my future. Few weeks ago, we had the chance to sleep in my Tita’s cousin’s condo in Taguig, the Two Serendra. WOW. I was left in awe with the entire thing. I walk across Market Market and the first thing I saw was the strip of restaurants from end to end. Ice creams, crepes, cakes, coffees, Japanese, Chinese, French, Italian, winery and donuts were just some of the many restaurants I came across with. Wow, the condo was just outside the food paradise. The location was not a problem. Aside from the restaurants, a couple of walks away was my own piece of paradise, FULLY BOOKED (part of a cool outdoor mall. What’s the name of that again?). 4 floors of heaven!!! I love books! I love notebooks and pens! I swear I could live there forever!!! Books books and books!! The 3rd floor was for coffee lovers to read the books they purchased and sip Caramel Macchiato and that Honey Glazed Donut for a snack, that’s right, Starbucks. Also, Two Serendra is accessible to a nearby hospital (just in case St. Luke’s is hiring for nurses very soon) or to shop (in Taguig or Makati too).

Again, I’m not a real estate agent for Two Serendra Condos but I’d like to give them a thumbs up for their awesome condominium. HOWEVER, here’s how I’d like my future home to look like. It may not be a condo (prolly still here in my home now, with a few renovations here and there) this is how I would like my HOME to feel like.

Let’s start with the living room.

WHITE. It’s peaceful and it simply spells serenity. Yes, you can say I’m more of a modern minimalist (as if I do own a home of my own) and I would really wanna see a lot of white so yes, not so ideal if I was to plan to have kids in the future. Pang single Denden muna itong bahay na toh.

By night, I would really wanna see the city lights across my living room window. Full vertical pane to see the beautiful city (that’s if I live in a not-so-high rise condo/apartment in New York or LA). Of course, compliment a beautiful living room with not just a flat screen TV (not that much of a fan of TV anyway) but with a book shelf that looks like this. Books are my comfort zone. I have a short book shelf my mom made for me because she knows how much I value these mind boggling treasures. So for my future home, a shelf with books should be a must!

BEDROOM. Prolly every girl’s fantasy is to have that perfect bedroom. Here’s how I envision my bedroom.

Yes, the one to left I hope would be my walk-in closet. The dresser in front of my bed and above it are frames of the photos I took or photos of my happiest moments with my favorite people, ideal for a frustrated photographer like me. So my idea of decorations? Pictures. Nuff’ said.

For my bathroom, yes, white again. Minimalist as I mentioned earlier and I meant it. I want my bathroom to have lots of light from the sun coming in the morning and mirrors to facilitate my demand of vanity. A bath tub is a plus but a good hot and cold shower will do. I would also like that cute cushion for the cover of my toilet seat.

And last and the most vital part of my future apartment/house to be:
KITCHEN.
I would want to entertain guests in the kitchen than in the living room. Why? I’ve always followed and believed in the principle that food is a form of blessing/grace. I wanna share my love through these blessings and to make my guests not just a pound bigger but also because food is a dose of happiness and love combined. Obvious naman sa weight ko! But I also think food is what brings a group of people more happier probably that Filipino in me that during gatherings or simple meetings, food is the main staple. Even coffee or juice with my own homemade cookies for my guests, I’d be more happier than they would be. I would really wanna cook for my guests, my parents, friends and to my future husband. Gusto ko busog sila lahat sa pagmamahal ko:)

This is too weird right? But I love the idea of the center counter-isle. The shades of pink in this kitchen is then same as the one I have in my room now. I simply cannot deny myself from this color.

And that concludes my blog post for tonight. Home dream home. Of course, much efforts must be made for me to grab that dream apartment of mine and I know in time, aabot din yan. This post will serve as my inspiration for me to drive myself better to achieve my goals by first, passing the board exam. And everything else will follow like being a New Yorker or having an apartment in Malibu or simply put a condo in Taguig? It doesn’t hurt to dream.
